Grado GS3000x and GS1000X: New wooden on-ear headphones

Brooklyn-based headphone maker Grado is back with a brand new statement series. These wooden headphones use Grado’s Generation X drivers, with the GS3000x being the most powerful design yet, inside a metal chamber surrounded by a single cocobolo wood enclosure. The GS1000x combines mahogany and ipe wood, a special, first-time combination. With this, Grado hopes to provide a warm texture with improved structural integrity as the signal passes through the enclosure.

The X Drivers bring a completely new design and new harmony to the inner workings of the GS3000x and GS1000x. Each one is specially customized for the wooden case in which it is housed. In Grado’s quest to improve sound reproduction quality.

Along with the superior sound of the new speakers, the GS3000x and GS1000x also feature improved Grado 12-conductor braided cable and new headbands. Both models are hand-built in Brooklyn, New York.
