Mercedes AMG Arctic Silver Edition Launches Exclusive Matte Silver Crossovers

The Mercedes Manufaktur court studio for individualization regularly provides the brand’s wealthiest clients with exclusive special versions of cars. This time, three related AMG crossovers were modified at once – the GLE, GLE Coupe and GLS: an exclusive version called Arctic Silver was offered for them.

The most noticeable feature of the special version is the matte silver body color, which is not in the factory palette. Standard cars have a similar silver color in the range, but without a matte finish. Another sign of the special version is the black and red accents on the body, provided by the branded AMG Night package. In addition, matte black roof rails, exhaust pipes in dark chrome and solid tinting of the rear windows are provided. Finally, original forged wheels with a diameter of 22 inches for the GLE and GLE Coupe models or 23 inches for the flagship GLS are installed. The hubs are decorated with a cap with a branded three-pointed star, AMG logo and a stylized laurel wreath.

The interior of the Arctic Silver trim level features a combination of red and black nappa leather, with diamond-pattern stitching on the seats. The decorative panels are made of carbon fiber with a red tint. The thresholds are fitted with illuminated trims, and the doors feature welcome illumination with AMG logos. The company emblems and embroidery are also scattered throughout the interior, but there is only one commemorative chrome plate indicating the special version – on the right side of the dashboard.

No technical changes have been announced. The GLE crossovers have three AMG versions at once: the GLE 53 with a 3.0 in-line six-cylinder turbo engine (435 hp, 560 Nm), the GLE 53 Hybrid with the same turbo six and an electric motor (a total of 544 hp and 750 Nm), and the GLE 63 S with a 4.0 V8 twin-turbo engine (612 hp, 850 Nm). The GLS model has only one most powerful AMG version with an eight-cylinder engine.

Orders for the Arctic Silver special edition are already open. However, prices will be announced only in July, as that is when full sales will begin. The total circulation of all crossovers in the Arctic Silver special edition will be 450 units.
