Quad 3: A modern integrated amplifier designed with a nod to vintage aesthetics

Quad Audio has launched the Quad 3 (or Quad Three), an integrated amplifier that draws inspiration from the iconic Quad 33/303 pre/power combination. The Quad 33/303 pre/power duo was recently unveiled in a significantly updated version (be sure to check out our review of the Quad 33 and Quad 303). Now, there is also a contemporary integrated model that features the nostalgic touches of the past.

The new Quad Three has a class AB topology with 65 watts of power per channel. There is a turntable input for MM cartridges, a pair of RCA line inputs, digital inputs and Bluetooth connectivity with support for aptX HD. The manufacturer has also fitted a preamp output.

The LCD display has an orange backlight, which maintains the vintage style of the Quad. The LED indicators of the classic amplifier knobs are also orange. With these, the user can control the volume and channel balance and select a source.

The Quad has a tone control consisting of a rotary knob for the bass and the legendary tilt that is typical of Quad devices.

The Quad 3 is expected to be available for delivery sometime in July 2025 and is expected to cost around €1,500.
